Do-Drul Chorten (Stupa)
Trullshi Rinpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism constructed Do Drul Chorten stupa at Dotapu Chorten, Deorali in 1945. Inside this stupa, holy Books and other religious objects are placed. 108 numbers of prayer wheels surrounds this stupa. Chorten Lakahang and Guru Lakhang is also near this stupa where statue of Guru Rinpoche is present.
Deer Park
It is also known as Rustomji park.It is named after one of the Dewans of the Chogyal of Sikkim. It is located adjacent to new secretariat. Different types of deer can be found here. Other than deer there is himalayan beer & Red panda is also placed here. Many visitor comes here to see the Budha Statue located here.
Enchey Monastery
The tantric master Lama Drupthob Karpo who is famous for his power of flying was here. It is a 200 old monestry. It was rebuilt in 1910.It is located at hill top & at 3 KM from the main town.
White Hall
White hall was constructed in memory of the first Political Officer of Sikkim, Claude White. It is named so because white paint is used for whole building. It is two storied building. A badminton court is also here.
Ridge Park
Ridge Park is a small road with many VIP residence. One of them is White hall & chief minister residence. A beautiful pagoda style gate is here. The chief minister's residence is also known as Mintokgang, meaning "blossomed crowned hilltop". The ridge is on the way to Nathula.
Tashi View Point
Late King of Sikkim, Tashi Namgyal built this view point. Mt. Khangchendzonga can be viewed beautiful from this view point. It is 4 KM from Town.Phodong and the Labrang monasteries can also be viewed from this place.
Hanuman Tok
Hanuman Tok is located 5 KM from town. It is a place devoted to Lord Hanuman & worshipped by all Hindu tourist. Khangchendzonga mountain view from this place is beautiful.Cremetion ground of royal family of Sikkim is also here. Stupas and chortens of this family members is here.
Ganesh Tok
This place is dedicated for worship of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is the Hindu God. This is a very small temple & hardly accommodate one tourist. It is very difficult to get inside this temple.Gangtok town & Raj Bhawan can be viewed from here.
Himalayan Zoological Park
It is park of 252 hectares dedicated for red pandas, barking deer, bears and other animals of Sikkim. It is a 3 Km stretch park. But vehicles are not allowed to this park. One has to patience to have a look to this species.
Tsomgo/ Changu Lake
A beautiful lake known as Tsomgo/ Changu Lake is located at 12210 feet altitude & 44 KM from town. 2 to 3 hours is required to spot this place by bus. It is 1 Km stretch lake & very beautiful. Brahmini ducks can be found swimming in this lake apart from many migratory birds. The oval shape of this lake adds to its attraction.
Nathula Pass
One has to plan only on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays to get this place. 14790 ft.(4,392 m) altitude & 54 KM from main town always snow can be found. Nathula pass is 20 KM from this place & border to India & China border. Photography is strictly prohibited here. childrens & patients are not advised to go there. The journey to this place is through dangerous road.
Yumthang Valley
This valley or valley of flowers is located at 140 KM from main town & at an altitude of 11800 feet. One need permission to visit this place. Local jeep, sumo can be booked on sharing basis to visit this place. It is a 2 day journey including return. The road to this place is beautiful mountain road. Many water falls can be seen on the way. The flowers in the March season is just heaven like feeling.
